These highly handcrafted teapots from China originated around the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Each teapot is designed and stamped from trained and skillful artist. Yixing is about 120 miles north of Shanghai China, where you find this special clay. The clay has many trace minerals such as iron, copper, and zinc, which is said to be very medicinal for us.
Yixing teapots are not glazed inside, so they remain porous to absorb the trace minerals and season the pot. It’s best to use one type of tea in each teapot. This will afford you the best flavour of your tea.
